Our view
“The Scions of Shannara” opens the “Heritage of Shannara” series with an adventurous quest set three hundred years after the earlier trilogy. It follows the heirs of the Shannara line: Wren, Walker Boh and Par Ohmsford. The first half, in the view of some readers, explains too much, and the novel finds its feet for them only at the midpoint, once scenes and dialogue take over.
