Our view
Intense and personal, “Nine Dragons” marks a turning point in the Harry Bosch series. What starts as a routine procedural leaves the usual pattern once Bosch’s own family is drawn in. Some readers find it slow to engage and unsure of its direction, with a resolution only sketched in; others notice awkward dialogue. Followers of the series should not skip it.
