Our view

“Frostbite” keeps the “Vampire Academy” series entertaining, carried by Rose Hathaway and her growing attraction to her instructor, Dimitri. Some readers see the twists coming well in advance and enjoy the book anyway; others dislike the prose and find the characters inconsistent. As a second volume it assumes the first has been read, and it works best for those already attached to Rose.
