Our view
The third Mortal Instruments book moves the action to the Shadowhunter city and reads like the finale it was first meant to be: more action than the previous volume, twists that land, and most of the big threads tied off. For some it is the most satisfying of the opening three, though some rereaders find it less remarkable than they remembered. At 560 pages it is an intense read. Read the first two books first.
