Our view
“Temple of the Winds” is the long, very dark fourth volume of “The Sword of Truth”, best left to readers already committed to the series. Some find its first half slow to engage and its central couple, Richard and Kahlan, harder to like than before; others object to its lurid streak, a preaching tone or recycled ideas. Affection for the earlier books is what carries some of them through its nine hundred-odd pages.
