Our view
“Debt of Bones” is a brisk, well-written prequel to “The Sword of Truth” that can be read in a single evening. Some readers think the closing pages pile up too many twists, and others feel it would mean more to those who already know the series. At about 130 pages it tells one self-contained story of wizards and war, and some readers come to it first and go on to the novels from here.
