Our view
“Merrick” brings Anne Rice’s vampires and her Mayfair witches into one book, and the prose keeps its strength. Some readers find that, in this seventh volume of “The Vampire Chronicles”, the witch’s past fills most of the pages while little happens in the present, and that the familiar vampires stay at the margins. It suits those who read Rice for her writing and who know both of her series.
