Our view

“The Wrath of Mulgarath” brings “The Spiderwick Chronicles” to a satisfying, action-packed close. Jared, Simon and Mallory Grace face the villain of the title, and favourite creatures from earlier volumes return for the finale. Readers agree it is a fitting conclusion; some call it the best of the five, and others find its ending bittersweet yet hopeful. A fine family read for children who have followed the series from the start.
