Our view
“Narcissus in Chains”, the tenth Anita Blake novel, sets vampires, werewolves and a kidnapping inside an ever more tangled web of relationships. Some readers find it gripping, welcome its new characters and like its idea that monsters are not always the real monsters. Others find the plot improvised, the sex scenes too many and the triangle between Anita, Richard and Jean-Claude squandered. It is written for adults.
