Our view

“Exquisite Corpse” is extreme horror told from inside its killers’ heads, with nothing held back. Brite follows Andrew Compton, a convicted English serial killer, and frames murder, cannibalism and necrophilia as a love story. Some readers find the narrators, a killer and an abusive lover, repellent by design and the absence of any moral character depressing; others note how easily it reads. Only for those with a strong stomach.
