Our view
“Mattimeo”, the third “Redwall” book, is a full-scale animal adventure about abduction, a long quest and war, told with a light touch. Brian Jacques spreads it over 446 pages, and it is one of only three novels in the long series to have been adapted for television. Some readers observe that the gentle creatures of Redwall Abbey are trusting and forgiving to a fault.
