“The Bellmaker” is a warm Redwall adventure, generous with feasts and humour, that continues the story begun in “Mariel of Redwall”. Mariel and Dandin return, and her father Joseph sets out to help them. Some readers find this volume quieter than earlier ones and its villain thin beyond plain wickedness. Fans of Mariel will be glad to see her again.
