Our view

“Brothers in Arms” sends Miles Vorkosigan on a funny, high-spirited adventure that also has things to say about identity. Lois McMaster Bujold uses the escapades to look at the burden a father places on his son and at moral choices made against everyone’s advice, and she gives the side characters room to grow. Some readers find it lighter than other Vorkosigan books, and others feel it ends abruptly. It was the fifth of the series to be published.
