Our view
“Beneath the Sugar Sky” is a short, whimsical quest that lets the Wayward Children series show far more of its worlds. Readers praise how vividly those places are drawn, and some single out the way it handles body image. For some it has a little less of the spell of the first two books. At under 160 pages it is quickly read, though it builds on events of the first volume.
