Our view
Piers Anthony’s “The Source of Magic” sends the “Xanth” series on an adventurous quest. A year after “A Spell for Chameleon”, Bink, now Official Researcher of Xanth, is charged by King Trent with finding where the land’s magic comes from. Readers who came for the novelty of the first book may miss it here; some tire of the long chain of encounters, and some object to the way women are written.
