Our view
“Golem in the Gears” is a quest-driven ninth Xanth novel from Piers Anthony, with a golem as its hero. Some readers find the plot thin and the golem too rude to his travelling companions to win much sympathy. It is mainly for readers already fond of “Xanth”, who know what to expect from this long-running series.
