Our view
The sixth Dungeon Crawler Carl book keeps the series’ gleefully tasteless comedy and its talent for chaos on a scale Carl can barely take in. What lifts it is weight: the losses of earlier books stay with him and colour every choice. Dinniman’s habit of withholding information from the reader grates on some, and 832 pages is a commitment. Strictly for those who have followed the series so far.
