Our view
Robin Hobb closes “Fitz and the Fool” with “Assassin’s Fate”, and with it a far longer story, in a vividly realised world. It returns to Fitz and to his daughter Bee where the second volume left off. Some readers see a strong strain of Christian allegory in it, and coming-of-age arcs that bring the saga close to young-adult fiction. This is no place to start: it assumes everything before it.
