Our view
A short, engaging continuation of the “Shadow” series, “Shadows in Flight” sends Bean and his children across space to an ancient Formic ark. Some readers value it as a moving step toward the end of Bean’s story; others see filler, with thin characters and a plot that leans on luck. It follows the first four volumes and is meant for those who have read them.
