Our view
“Shadow Puppets” is a political and military chess game with a love story at its centre. Those who liked the manoeuvring of the previous volume find it again here, and some praise the romance. Others think the series is losing steam, with suspense arriving only around the midpoint and a final confrontation that is easy to foresee, and some miss the science fiction. It is the third book and depends on the two before it.
