Our view
“4th of July” is a fast fourth Women’s Murder Club thriller that keeps Lindsay Boxer at its centre and the killers in doubt. Co-written with Maxine Paetro, it moves to a small town, so the rest of the club appears less often, a change some readers welcome and others regret. There are also readers who find the coincidences hard to believe and the legal subplot more prominent than the murders.
