Our view
“Caught” keeps its reader guessing through a run of twists that lasts to the final pages. Harlan Coben’s tenth stand-alone thriller turns on a missing teenager and on the reporter Wendy Tynes. Some readers are put off by a plot that changes direction halfway, a worn double twist at the close and an ending that preaches. Others warm to Wendy, flawed and well aware of it.
