Our view

“The Night Eternal” closes the “Strain” trilogy with a tense, action-heavy finale. Readers who have followed the war against the vampires from the first book get a clean, dramatic ending. Some readers find the first half slow, and others feel the survivors’ chances grow harder to believe as the book goes on. It is the last of three volumes and makes sense only after the other two.
