Our view
“The Necromancer”, fourth of the seven Nicholas Flamel books, is a light, tense fantasy crowded with figures from myth and history. Some readers enjoy the growing cast and what the adventure teaches about the past. Others feel the series is being stretched, with too much recapping, and some are frustrated by inconsistencies in the characters. It is no place to start: the story continues from the three books before it.
