Our view
“The Magician”, second in “The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel”, moves the chase to Paris and keeps the first book’s breakneck pace. Readers tend to rate it at least the equal of its predecessor; some credit its more developed characters and a rift between the twins over Flamel’s intentions, though they would like more humour. Some find the dialogue and narration repetitive.
