Our view
“The Marvelous Land of Oz” is a lively, funny sequel that sends the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow on a new adventure. L. Frank Baum keeps the tone of the first book: some readers find this one bigger and even more fun, others less exciting. Some groan at the puns, and others see its comic take on women as very much of its time. It works well read aloud to children.
