“The Hero of Ages” closes the Mistborn trilogy with unusual precision: threads laid down across two earlier books click into place, and the ending moves readers as much as it satisfies them. It is a dark, end-of-the-world story, and at 760 pages it asks for patience. It cannot be read on its own; for anyone who enjoyed the first two volumes, it is the reward.
Worth knowing The last book of the original trilogy, published in 2008. The chapter epigraphs come from a narrator who is revealed only at the end, and details planted since the first book come together here. The world returns some three centuries later in The Alloy of Law (2011), which opens the second era of the series.

It was published on October 14, 2008, by Tor Books and is the third and final novel in the Mistborn trilogy. It is preceded by The Well of Ascension in 2007 and followed by The Alloy of Law in the Mistborn: Era 2 series, Wax and Wayne in 2011.
