Our view

“City of Miracles” closes “The Divine Cities” by giving the story to Sigrud, the brutal former spy, and he carries it. Some rank it the weakest of the three and think its villain and supporting characters dull. Beneath the revenge plot the book is about anger, grief and coming to terms with one’s own past, and readers who followed the trilogy find it a satisfying end.
