Our view

“Twilight Eyes” rests on a striking Dean Koontz premise: a man with psychic gifts who hunts goblins able to pass as human. Calling himself Slim MacKenzie, the hunter can see through their disguise. Some readers find the setting the most satisfying part, while the characters, and the heroine Rya in particular, leave them cold. Koontz fans drawn to monster hunts with a psychic twist may want to try it.
