Our view
“The Teeth of the Tiger” is a fresh start for Tom Clancy’s Ryan saga, passing it to a new generation. Jack Ryan’s son and two nephews join The Campus, a covert agency built for the post-9/11 world, while Ryan himself stays offstage. Some readers find the dialogue clumsy and the premises far-fetched; others recoil from what they see as a triumphalist picture of America abroad. Its appeal lies in the covert-agency premise and the handover.
