Our view

“The Realms of the Gods” brings “The Immortals” quartet to a fitting end. Daine, the orphan who can speak with animals, is caught up in a war that reaches into the realm of the gods. Some find the final battle flat or Daine too flawless, and others are uneasy about how the romance, with its age gap, is handled. Others identify closely with Daine and find the finale all they want from young-adult fantasy.
