Our view

“Page” has a heroine worth following through knight school, and it holds up for readers returning years later. The second “Protector of the Small” book covers the training of Keladry, the first girl to be a page in a hundred years, and makes her fallible enough to be believable. Some readers find it short and rushed for the years it spans, closer to a lead-in to the next volume than a story complete in itself.
