Our view

“The Long Cosmos” closes the series that began with “The Long Earth”, true to the earlier books. Big ideas meet a cast of ordinary, likeable people, and Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter stay consistent to the last page. Some readers see it as a fitting farewell, even if a few threads stay loose, among them a thinking machine that never quite earns its place. It is for readers who have followed the series this far.
