Our view

In “The Halloween Tree” Bradbury turns the history of Halloween into a short, dark and poetic adventure. The novel follows the holiday back to its roots in Samhain, and some readers single out the imagery of its prose. At 171 pages it suits anyone after an autumn tale that is eerie and moving at once, and there are those who reread it every October.
