Our view

“Mitosis” is a short, entertaining bridge between “Steelheart” and “Firefight”, and readers of the Reckoners series value it for exactly that. It shows a slightly older, wiser David while the fight against the Epics in Newcago goes on, and its brevity works in its favour. Some consider it an optional extra; it sits most naturally straight after the first novel.
