Our view

“Mistress of the Empire” brings the “Empire Trilogy” to a gripping, large-scale finish. Raymond E. Feist and Janny Wurts keep the political intrigue of the earlier volumes at full stretch, and the tension mounts steadily across nearly seven hundred pages. Some readers feel this last volume pushes the heroine’s rise beyond what is believable. As the conclusion of the story, it should be read after the first two books.
