Our view

“Dealing with Dragons” is a short, funny fairy-tale send-up about a princess who runs off to live with a dragon instead of waiting to be rescued. Cimorene, practical and unashamed of thinking for herself, is the reason many readers love it, and the book quietly sets aside the usual damsel-and-romance pattern. Some adults find the plot predictable. Ideal for children, and a quick pleasure for grown-ups who wanted this heroine when they were young.
