Our view
“Club Dead” is a quick, compulsive third volume of “The Southern Vampire Mysteries”, built to send you straight to the fourth. Sookie’s search for the missing Bill brings a werewolf and the vampire Eric to the fore, and some readers find it stronger than the two books before it and feel the prose gets better with each instalment. It assumes knowledge of the earlier volumes, so begin there.
