Our view
“Champion” gives the Legend trilogy a tidy, bittersweet ending that some readers find emotionally satisfying. It keeps the suspense of the earlier books while letting Day and June grow up under the weight of what a Republic at war asks of them, and it offers a first glimpse of the world beyond. Some find it a little less gripping than its predecessors; the ending belongs to those who have followed the pair from the start.
