Our view
“Blue Noon” closes Scott Westerfeld’s “Midnighters” trilogy, a small-town fantasy that leans on friendship as much as on magic. Jessica and her fellow Midnighters, Desdemona, Rex, Jonathan and Melissa, face the Darklings and Slithers, the predators who made the Blue Hour and live in it. As the last of three books, it is meant for readers who have followed the group through “The Secret Hour” and “Touching Darkness”.
