“Backup” is a brisk “Dresden Files” novella that lets Harry’s half-brother Thomas tell the story for once. Jim Butcher has him deal with a threat to Harry without Harry ever noticing, and the change of viewpoint adds depth to Thomas. Some readers only wish it were longer.
