Our view
“Unsouled” starts the twelve-book Cradle series with a simple setup: Lindon, barred from his clan’s sacred arts, has to find his own route to power. Some readers find the opening rough and its society too thin to be believed, then decide that realism is not the point. What can win them over is the hint of a much larger story behind the scenes. Light fantasy for readers who enjoy watching an underdog climb.
