Our view
“The Secret Adversary” is Christie in high spirits, closer to a spy adventure than to a detective puzzle, with a touch of romance. Two young people blunder into an international conspiracy, and suspicion about who is behind it keeps shifting. Some readers find the plot disjointed, as it jumps between the pair and in time; some do not share its political outlook. A light introduction to Tommy and Tuppence.
