Our view
“The Faith of Beasts” is a strong second volume of “The Captive’s War”, widening and varying the cast its predecessor introduced. It comes after the novella “Livesuit” and the opening novel, “The Mercy of Gods”, with the humans still adapting to their changed circumstances in a dark story of war and aliens. Some readers feel the trilogy is still mostly building its world here. Start with the first book, not this one.
