Our view

“Passage to Dawn” closes the “Legacy of the Drow” books with an entertaining sea-going adventure for Drizzt and his companions. The bonds between the characters, a constant of Salvatore’s writing, remain the draw. Some readers see it as a filler volume with little that is new, and find the comic relief overdone and the characters barely developed. Tenth in “The Legend of Drizzt”, it speaks to readers attached to these heroes.
