Our view

“MaddAddam” closes Margaret Atwood’s dystopian trilogy with more warmth and humour than its end-of-the-world setting would suggest. The characters, human and non-human, are its strength, and some readers find them endearing enough to cry over. Others feel the narrative wanders through stories that never quite join up and rank it below the two earlier volumes. As a third and final volume it should not be read alone.
