Our view
Christine Feehan’s “Dark Prince” is the vampire romance that launched her long Dark series of paranormal love stories. Some readers needed three or four chapters to get past a trite opening and were then hooked on the series; others find the heroine exasperating, the hero no better and the story unoriginal. It is the place to start for readers curious about a series that now runs to dozens of titles.
