Our view

“Behemoth” is where Scott Westerfeld’s steampunk First World War settles in, and some readers enjoy it more than “Leviathan”. The world needs no further introduction, Deryn’s escapades bring thrills, and the plot is tied closely to the real history of 1914. Some find the budding romance too hasty to believe. One volume of the trilogy remains after this one.
