Our view

“Ark Angel” takes the “Alex Rider” series off the planet, and the bigger stage suits its teenage spy. Anthony Horowitz builds the sixth adventure around a space hotel that threatens the Pentagon and plays that outsized idea as a straight thriller. Some readers notice how closely each book follows the same pattern, and add that in a spy story for teenagers it is hard to mind.
