Our view

By giving every character a voice, Carl included, “A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor” widens its story and ends well. It completes the tale of April May begun in “An Absolutely Remarkable Thing”. Some readers find the first half slow, and some could do without the swearing. Readers single out the shifting perspectives, and its thinking about social media and its hold on daily life feels close to the present.
